Life is a journey from our first to last breath.

As we move through our life journeys we encounter many intersections and possible pathways.

I am excited that your journey has brought you to visiting my website.

My dream is that we experience the fullest potential of our existence.

It would be an honour to work with you if we share the dream of living

with gratitude and vitality, to our fullest potential.

WHO AM I? I am an educator and learner-at-heart, with more than 3 decades of teaching experience in various subjects (sciences, interdisciplinary learning, problem-solving, sports, movement awareness, and teacher education). I have taught in multicultural and multinational settings throughout the USA and Belgium, with students ranging from the highly energetic five year old to the still young-at-heart octogenarian. From my first passion in science teaching and learning (also the field of my Ph.D.) I stepped into the world of neuroplasticity and somatic education.

I enjoy dancing Argentinean tango, walking in nature, swimming in a lake, gliding across the snow on cross-country skis, working in my vegetable garden, and connecting with friends and family. Momentous experiences such as coming to know Ubuntu (a Southern African concept referring to humanity and sense of interconnectedness) whilst in South Africa and walking on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Spain have been two seeds for personal transformation in my life journey.

JTM logo-katherine wiesemanHOW DID MY BUSINESS NAME AND LOGO ORIGINATE? When thinking about what to call my business, the word Journeys immediately bubbled forth. Though Movement seemed a natural fit since movement is at the essence of life. I drew upon my spirituality and my scientific background for the image of my business logo. Read more about my logo.

HOW WOULD OUR WORK TOGETHER UNFOLD? We’ll work in ways that are holistic, experiential, multi-sensory, and interactive. We start with noticing physical sensations, emotions, thoughts, and habitual movement patterns. Mindful self-observation fosters sensory movement-based awareness and creates conditions for transformation. Your journey from the inside out is one of opening to possibility and potential, and of making connections within yourself, others and your environment. Time and space for personal and community awareness; reflection; and storytelling through words, movement, and sometimes even music are essential aspects in this journey!
